2007…

Thursday, December 27th, 2007

As we come to the end of the year, as usual I am thinking - it seems it like 2007 has flown by.

Since it went by so quickly - I have composed the 2007 - a year in review - to help me remember just what all happened.

Nancy Pelosi becomes the first female speaker of United States House of Representatives.

Windows Vista was introduced and quickly became a nightmare.

Barry Bonds broke Hank Aaron’s home run record by hitting his 756th home run.barry-bonds1.jpg

The most popular wedding day of the year was 07.07.07. There was even this flickr group created to celebrate that had 7777 members take 7 photos on 07.07.07 to be published in a coffee table book.

Bob Barker retired from the Price is Right after more than 35 years on the show. He was replaced by Drew Carey.

Apple release the ipod touch - and it is cool.

Is there a trend here?

header_leftgutter.jpgEven though it was the year of home foreclosures, I couldn’t seem to get enough of shows like House Hunters, Flip that House, and Property Ladder.

Did anyone notice that the 2008 Presidential Election started it like February of 2007? Ridiculous… if anything the mud slinging should be shortened.

We all went Green - NBC even had an entire week of programming dedicated to the environment - Green Week.

Did I mention that I met Matt Lauer and I was on the Today show?0830070816.JPG

David Crowder Band released Remedy. We were so excited that we drove more than 1000 miles to go to the CD release party.cd08.jpg

Have you checked out Pastor Steven Furtick at Elevation Church in Charlotte NC? It seems as though he is on top of everyone’s church planter list.

Diet Coke no more…

Thursday, December 20th, 2007

Well it has been 2 weeks tomorrow since I have had any diet soda. You may be thinking, “What’s the big deal?” It is a HUGE deal for me, as I have practically been addicted to diet sodas for about 4 or 5 years. That was really all I liked to drink averaging about 5 to 10 everyday. I know it’s crazy.

I have come to the conclusion that the aspartame is is having bad effects on my body. I think that it is causing some anxiety/panic issues. No matter what, I will be healthier without it.

I am actively trying to drink more water, so far I am failing miserably.

toe-tally confused…

Saturday, December 8th, 2007

If anyone knows me, they know that I like to wear heels. I just feel more comfortable and feel less dumpy. Up to now, I have resisted any kind of flats - but I am now reconsidering.

There are some of the cutest ballet flats out there. Like these, these, and these. There is one problem when I try them on - something that I have avoided all along- Toe Cleavage. I always have thought this to be one of the less desirable parts of myself. Do people really want to see this when they look at my feet? Maybe it goes back to the days of my childhood in the 80’s playing in the yard in my jelly shoes which created sweaty dirt between my toes.

toe cleavage

(not my foot)

There is no longer any dirt between my toes and everyone is pulling off all kind of flats without looking hideous with their toe cleavage. I am just having a really hard time making that first step showing of my toe cleavage to the world. Is toe cleavage appropriate? I hear that Manolo Blahnik approves of it as only as it is only the first 2 toes visible. Isn’t he the shoe authority? Am I worrying about nothing? How does everyone else pull it off?

technical difficulties….

Thursday, December 6th, 2007

Please pardon the technical difficulties with the blog. I have upgraded to WordPress 2.3 but apparently my theme is not compatible and there is gibberish where the tags would normally go. If you come and notice that or a not so pretty theme, please disregard and continue to enjoy yourself. Thanks.

*UPDATE* My technical genius fixed everything on with my theme.

noir…

These are great - unexpected. I envision these making a cool accent against a green wall.

rococo-noir-large.jpg

Rosanna has such cool stuff. I picked up a set of dessert plates from the Haute Shoe Collection a couple of years ago, but have never used them.

They are pretty -

However I would rather have some pieces from the Rocco Noir collection. Anyone want to trade?

If you can’t live without the black ones, get it here.

funny face..

Wednesday, December 5th, 2007

One of my favorite bloggers, OMSH, is hosting a contest that is just too good to pass up. She is giving away 40 bucks to spend at Carol Axium Designs on Etsy. It requires that I make a funny face so I made this one.

I quickly decided that I am not the best funny face maker - I look like I am in pain or need to make a quick trip to the loo.

So I enlisted the help of PhotoBooth on the Mac Book.

Much better results.

I hope I win. I would love some fabulous jewelry. If you want to play - go here!

creatively used in Domino Magazine as a toilet paper holder.

Wherever you get them - they will definitely be a hit with your lady!
