cody-palm-springs

This picture was taken in Dec 2006 in Palm Springs, CA. I was just browsing through some of my pics and a remembered how much I like this photo. I made Cody pose on this bench because I really loved the mosaics. Good times.

NOTE: That is my purse.

I have been in knots in the inside lately. I have been worried about so many things. I have been actively trying to give it all to God, but it seems that every time I seem to think I have let go, my humanity kicks in and I become a all twisted up with worry. I am good at that.

I stumbled across this today. Well you know what I mean…

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Romans 8:28

I have read this over and over again. This is exactly what I needed today. God is going work all things out for the good. What have I been worrying about? I am not even in charge. God is.

1. Poll:Are you fashion forward? When do you think it’s okay to wear white ( shoes/pants)? Easter? Memorial Day? First Day Spring? Tell me what you think…

2. I got a new camera and I love it! I think everyone else hates it because I am like the paparazzi.

1. What were they thinking?

I was driving down the highway last Sunday, and this vehicle caught me eye. I turned my car around to snap a pic because I knew that no one would believe me. It says that it is a “electric vehicle”, however I think it is a solar car.

2. As most of you know, Cody’s brother got married last weekend. It was a really nice wedding and all the boys looking handsome in their Johnny Cash tuxes. It was a beautiful ceremony and the bride was lovely. Well if I am one of those girls that never has anything to wear. I was totally stressed about what to wear. Cody took me shopping a couple of weeks ago and I found the perfect outfit. However, as the wedding grew closer I began to like my outfit less and less, at least for the wedding. So I ran out and bought totally different outfit which meant I had no shoes to wear. So I went to the local (remember small town) store to search out a pair of shoes. I found a pair that I thought would suffice.

Good thing they are “suitable for vegetarians”. What the heck?

3. My dear Cody went to NYC to fix a client’s problem. He is so smart. He sent me this pic of Sephora from Times Square. He knows that I love this store.

He is so sweet.

I have moved from here to here. I hope the transition goes smoothly for everyone. Now I am free to edit my CSS stylesheet, even though when I look at it I feel like my head is shrinking, Thank God for Cody.

Today is a long day and the slacks I have had on at work today will not stay zipped. How embarrassing! I wonder what Emily Post would have to say about that?

Here are ideas I have had today (some of which I have tried):

  • Pretend my pants are not gaping open while I chat with my co-worker in the hall.
  • Excuse myself mid conversation and race to the restroom like I have a bad case of diarrhea.
  • Just nonchalantly announce that it is a “Bad Zipper Day” and just zip them up while everyone is watching.
  • Twist my body is a way that my torso is facing the wall while the head is facing to the person speaking and claim that it is a funny pose from the movie “Zoolander”
  • Bend over and pretend to be adjusting the hem on my pant leg or rubbing a smudge from my shoe.

Oh goodness please give me some relief from the cursed zipper.

thank you kindly

I am so excited. I received an awesome Christmas present today. I know it seems late to be getting a Christmas gift, but my dear friend are a little late with it. I have to admit it is a little fun.

I received the most fabulous gift, right off my amazon.com wishlist!

I love it. Thanks Sam!

monday notes…

Monday, March 5th, 2007

On this Monday morning, here are some of my random thoughts:

Cody’s younger brother is getting married this Saturday. Of course he is the best man and wearing a “Johnny Cash” tux.
johnny cash I really have no idea what that means. I think maybe it is called that because the tux as well as the shirt is black. Mr. Blue will be singing in the wedding and I 100% expect some kind of mischief out of him. He also will be wearing the afore mentioned tuxedo. As for me, I will be wearing a gray plaid pant with a black blazer. I am a little weary of wearing that because Emily Post says that I should wear and short afternoon or or cocktail dress with optional head coverings and gloves. That sounds fun, I just could not find an “afternoon dress.” I hate the thoughts of being underdressed. I have always had the opinion that it is better to be overdressed than underdresssed. I know some may not share my philosophy on this. Cody for example is a complete casualist.

It will be nice to meet Cody’s grandparents on his dad’s side. They are driving in from New Mexico along with his grandmother on his mother’s side. I am looking forward to that.

I also made a call today and had all my services bundled. Yes I now have my home phone, DSL, wireless phone, and Direct TV all on the same bill and I got a discount! I am always up for a discount. Speaking of discounts, does anyone out there need Direct TV? If so, let me know and we can both get a $50 credit on our bill and you would get a free portable DVD player. Ok, ok, you are right, it is corny to solicit that here. Give me a break on this one.

My mom is going to participate in a local craft show in April. She makes things out of recycled soda cans. She asked me if I would like to join her. That sounds like that could be fun, however I have to figure out something to make??

Spring is approaching! I love Spring! I am thrilled that Daylight Savings time is coming three weeks early this year. I love the longer days. I love that when it is still daylight when I leave work. It seems like there is a concern about our computers though, it is like a mini Y2K. I guess some folks computers will not know to “spring ahead” an hour early in March, so it will have to be done manually. I heard that Microsoft is releasing an update for this. If any of you work in an industry dependent upon computers, you may be a little nervous like me.
